Perseverance is one of my very favorite character traits to teach. Once students have a true understanding of persistence, they notice it everywhere - in themselves, in other students, and even in me! There’s nothing better than hearing, “Ms. Gardner, I persevered!”

  1. QR CODE EXPLORATION OF PERSEVERANCE

Your students will love using technology to explore the concepts of perseverance, persistence, and grit. Students will scan a QR code, watch a video, and record their learning and connections they made. This is such a powerful activity!

 

2. PERSEVERANCE PARENT LETTER

This perseverance parent letter is an excellent way to communicate what your students are learning at school with the adults in their lives. This letter explains what perseverance is, gives parents ideas for how they can help foster perseverance in their child, and gives a list of book recommendations!

 

3. THE MOST MAGNIFICENT THING

The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires is one of my all time favorite books, especially when it comes to teaching growth mindset and perseverance. This book companion is full of extension activities and writing prompts for students after reading the book.
